Railway

Deploy apps, databases, and services in minutes — push from GitHub and Railway handles builds, hosting, and scaling with zero infrastructure setup. It's one of the more established tools in the Developer Tools category, with a free plan and paid upgrades.

✦ Okiru's Review

We run okiru.biz on Railway, so this is a tool we use rather than one we list. The appeal is simple: connect a GitHub repo, and every push builds and deploys without anyone looking after servers. For a small team that would rather spend its time on the product than on infrastructure, that is the main reason to choose it.

Usage-based billing is a good fit for services that are quiet most of the day, but it is not a fixed bill. Set usage alerts early and check the bill monthly as traffic grows.

The lesson from our own move: Railway hosted the site well, but the domain still depended on DNS held elsewhere. If you move a site that already ranks, point both the bare domain and www at Railway and test that old URLs redirect with their paths intact before you switch. Otherwise search engines can lose the old pages.
